Bitwise Introduces NEAR Staking ETP on Xetra
Bitwise Asset Management has launched its latest Exchange-Traded Product (ETP) on the Deutsche Börse Xetra trading platform, enabling both institutional and retail investors to gain exposure to the NEAR Protocol blockchain with staking benefits. The product, trading under the ticker "NEAR" and ISIN DE000A4A5GV2, is fully backed and issued in Germany.
Accessible Staking with Daily Compounded Returns
This new NEAR Staking ETP allows investors to earn compounded staking yields on a daily basis without handling the complexities of direct staking or the risks associated with token custody. By investing in this ETP, holders can avoid managing NEAR tokens themselves or relying on third-party validators, as the underlying tokens are securely stored in cold storage by an institutional custodian.
Part of Bitwise’s Expanding European Total Return Suite
The NEAR Staking ETP marks Bitwise’s fourth ETP launch in Europe, joining their existing Ethereum Staking ETP among others. Bitwise’s Head of Europe, Bradley Duke, emphasized the product’s appeal by highlighting its combination of price exposure and staking rewards within a regulated, liquid product structure.
About NEAR Protocol
NEAR Protocol is a layer-1 blockchain platform designed to support AI integration and scalable decentralized applications. Launched in 2020, NEAR addresses blockchain limitations such as slow transaction speeds and high costs through innovative sharding technology. This approach enables fast, cost-effective transactions and enhances developer experience by supporting customizable smart contracts and multichain applications without the need for bridges or wrapped tokens.
Benefits for Investors
The NEAR Staking ETP benefits investors by providing daily liquidity on a regulated stock exchange, eliminating lock-up periods or manual delegation requirements. It offers a low-cost ownership model with exposure to both asset price appreciation and staking yield, streamlining access to NEAR’s ecosystem through traditional financial markets.
